Do you ever experience anxiety when reading or listening to a book? Certain films, tv dramas, and stories do this to me, especially when there is a race against time or, in Jack’s case, being caught by the police all while hiding, breaking and entering. Not to mention zero funds, improver clothes, and endless injuries. Who can you trust? Who is framing you? Eek gads!

I love Ware’s books and love them even more when they are narrated by Imogen Church. Church captures the tension, exhaustion, fear. She truly enhances the story as she brings these characters to life.

Jack has a wonderful life with her husband, Gabe. The two of them own their own business, testing the security of companies. Jack breeches the buildings with Gabe in her ear, guiding her. She steals data and then Gabe analyzes their software for vulnerabilities. After a breech gone wrong, Jack arrives home to find Gabe murdered and from there things go terribly, terribly wrong.

The tale that unfolds was set at a record pace, making it hard to set down. Did I agree with Jack’s decisions? Not necessarily, but the woman is tenacious. While she failed in some aspects upfront, she more than makes up for it as she closes in on who is behind the murder and frame job.

Twists, turns, and chase scenes will have you holding your breath. The “why” was chilling and felt horribly realistic, especially in today’s political and economic climate. Ware did a wonderful job of allowing me to feel Jack’s emotions from her fear to her anger, and I became completely caught up in the story.

Fans of suspense thrillers and heart-pounding action will want to grab Zero Days on audio.

Immerse yourself in A.G. Russo’s captivating military science fiction universe with his novel, ‘Ocellicon: Future Visions.’ Unfolding in an atmosphere of military supremacy over authority, the narrative follows Prosecutor Major Annalisa Farrell, who finds herself contending with an adversarial court system. Driven by her quest for justice and haunted by the ghosts of her traumatic past, Farrell battles against the formidable Judge Bennett McCrae, the ultimate arbiter of her fate. Despite the odds, she draws strength from her previous victories in special operations, interstellar ventures, and encounters with extraterrestrial beings, finding her court challenge yet another battlefield to conquer.

In Russo’s intricately devised world, which surpasses conventional norms, the reader’s curiosity is fueled as he reshapes our perception of Earth. The narrative powerfully presents themes of authority and dominance from the outset, placing our protagonist in challenging circumstances. The reader is then drawn into the tense atmosphere of the courtroom, where the intricate details of the crime under scrutiny unfold, presenting differing perspectives in a clash of argumentative might. Even as she battles her personal demons of childhood abuse, violence, and trauma, Annalisa’s trajectory remains unyielding, her commitment to securing justice never wavering.

Russo orchestrates a blend of science fiction noir, hinting at the underlying complexity of issues that can eclipse the fragility of human existence – our emotional reality. As the established order faces disruption, one must question whether the pursuit of justice in this narrative leads the characters to victory or their downfall? Russo deftly weaves in raw emotions and graphic depictions of physical abuse and violence, which serve to heighten the authenticity and compelling nature of the story.

Oscillating between post-apocalyptic, science fiction, and thriller themes, with a significant element of courtroom drama, ‘Ocellicon: Future Visions’ occupies its own unique space. Every Other Weekend

Every Other Weekend by Anthony Mohr is an enthralling narrative that transports readers to the vibrant backdrop of 1950s Los Angeles. However, this is not merely a tale of an ordinary teenager; it delves into the life of Judge Anthony Mohr, the son of Hollywood B-list actor, Gerald Mohr. Mohr’s memoir encapsulates the complexities of navigating life with two fathers – a situation far from commonplace in 1950s LA when divorce was a rarity.

Throughout this captivating book, Mohr vividly portrays the contrasting qualities of his two fathers. His biological father exudes charm and wit, enabling him to maneuver through life. Yet, this lifestyle belies the less-than-ideal quality of life he provides. In stark contrast, Mohr’s stepfather—a prominent figure in today’s American business world—offered a different, more stable life for Mohr and his mother.

As the author humbly admits, he was not always caught at the crossroads of choosing between the two lives before him. Nevertheless, numerous teachable moments arose, ultimately shaping the trajectory of Mohr’s life. Every Other Weekend provides readers with a glimpse into this world, exposing the inner workings of a child who grew up among TV stars and business juggernauts, while also offering insights into the broader societal landscape of 1950s America.

It is nearly impossible to read this book without being in awe of Anthony Mohr’s masterful storytelling. The author’s craft is executed with a stylish finesse that keeps readers fully engrossed throughout. Seamlessly transitioning between past and present, Mohr skillfully interweaves personal anecdotes with meticulous research, ensuring that each paragraph is an essential thread in the rich tapestry of his narrative.

Every Other Weekend is a true page-turner, a literary work that demands your undivided attention. With each turn of the page, the reader is drawn deeper into Mohr’s world, swept away by his descriptive language and vivid imagery. Upon reaching the final sentence of the epilogue, readers are left with only one regret—that the book was not longer. This memoir lingers in the mind, inviting contemplation and reflection long after the last page is turned. It is a testament to the power of self-discovery and family.
